Mrs. Dorothy C. Bacha

Dorothy Carol Bacha, 89, of 235 Walker Street in Lenox, MA, died Saturday morning at the Mt. Greylock Extended Care Facility in Pittsfield, MA. Born in Scranton, PA, September 7, 1933, daughter to Matthew and Cecelia Bocinski Golembeski, she was a 1951 graduate of East Side High School in Newark, NJ. She was a homemaker and executive assistant for much of her career, eventually retiring from Chubb Insurance in Warren, NJ, to enjoy traveling with her husband, Michael J. Bacha, and to spend time with her close extended family of siblings, nieces, nephews, children, grand-children and great-grandchildren. She was a warm and generous presence to everyone around her. She will be remembered for her smile, the way she lit up around a bouquet of flowers, the fierce love she had for her family, and her passion for feeding anyone who stepped through her door. Dorothy and Michael were married in East Orange, NJ, on Oct. 2, 1954. They started their family in East Orange before moving to South Plainfield, NJ, and later to Martinsville, NJ, where they lived for 33 years. Later residences were in Whitehouse Station, NJ, and most recently Lenox. They were parishioners for many years of Blessed Sacrament Church in Martinsville and later Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Whitehouse Station. Survivors include her three children, Leslie A. Boudreau of Lee, MA, Diane M. Bacha (John Koethe) of Milwaukee, WI, and Michael J. Bacha Jr. (Jill) of Montclair, NJ; three sisters, Joanne D’Surney (William) of Richmond, VA, Marlene Reardon of Hingham, MA, and Marie Labarowski (John) of Advance, NC; one brother, Matthew Golembeski (Brenda) of Ocean Township, NJ; seven grandchildren including Emily Burniske (Darin) of Southwick, MA, Katie Boudreau (Patrick Hall) of Lee, Sam J. Boudreau (Samantha) of Union, NJ, Kaylyn Bacha of Boston, MA, MaryClare Bacha of Hoboken, NJ, M. Joel Bacha of Montclair, and Jacob Bacha of Montclair; and five great-grandchildren including James, Noah, Finn Michael, Leo and Daisy. A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Bacha will be celebrated 11:00am on July 11th at St. Mary’s Church in Lee. The family will greet friends at the church following Mass. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ, at a later date.
