Dr. Edward Lewis Parsons, 83, of Cannan, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2013, following a stroke. He was born June 7, 1930, in Northampton, Mass., son of Clarence and Helen Parsons. Dr. Parsons received his MD from McGill Medical School and practiced Psychiatry for over 40 years. During his practice, Dr. Parsons assisted many people who would have been otherwise unable to afford psychiatric and psychotherapeutic care. Ed was known for his love of the outdoors and remained an avid hiker his entire life. He also belonged to several Choral groups, including the Berkshire Bach Society. Ed is survived by his wife, Diann Connell Parsons; his daughters, Gail, Lyn and Danielle; his grandchildren, Josh and Bailey; his sister, Anne Blaisdell; his brother, Sidney, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Donald FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours will be Friday, July 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at ROCHE FUNERAL HOME, 120 Main Street, Lenox, MA 01240. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 20, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Heifer International or Doctors Without Borders, both in care of the funeral home.
