Mr. Alan H. Dewey

October 11, 1938 - March 21, 2012

Alan Harvey Dewey, 73, of New Lenox Road, died Wednesday evening at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield on October 11, 1938, the son of Harvey and Edith Turunen Dewey, he was educated in local schools. A master mechanic by trade, he worked for the Town of Lenox for 27 years before becoming disabled. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Harvey Dewey. He is survived by his children, Jon Dewey of Arizona, Melissa Dewey of Las Vegas, Victoria Dewey of Pittsfield, and Daniel Dewey of Pittsfield; a brother, Phil Dewey of Lenox; sisters-in-law, Hazel Dewey and Sharon Dewey; two grandchildren, Damian M. Francis and Alan H. Dewey II; and his friends Vondalee Dewey and Barbara Fallon. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Alan H. Dewey, who died March 21, 2012, will be held Monday, March 26, 2012 at 10 am at the ROCHE FUNERAL HOME with the Rev. Dainia Salnitis, Pastor of St. Helena's Chapel in New Lenox, officiating. Burial will follow in Mountainview Cemetery. Calling hours at the Funeral Home are Sunday, March 25th, from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alan's memory may be made to the Town of Lenox Scholarship Fund, in care of the funeral home, 120 Main Street, Lenox, MA 01240.
